MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 24, 2024) – The zMAX CARS Tour set entry, purse, and race details for its May 14-15 events at historic North Wilkesboro Speedway today as competitors tested at the .625-mile track.
Both the Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model divisions will race the mid-week show, with the Pro Late Models kicking off its one-day appearance on Tuesday, May 14 with The Reverend 100 and the Late Model Stock Car division following up on Wednesday in the Window World 125. The LMSC division will have a two-day show, with practice only on Tuesday and practice, qualifying, and the race on Wednesday.
“The North Wilkesboro event is the crown jewel of the zMAX CARS Tour, and this year we are ramping it up in terms of entries and purse,” said Kip Childress, Executive Director of the CARS Tour. “During our open test, we wanted to let the competitors and fans know that this event continues to grow both in stature and importance. Both divisions are open entry, and we’re hoping that drivers and teams will come to see what we bring to the track.”
The Late Model Stock Cars will battle for the $10,000 winner’s prize on Wednesday night, while the Pro Late Model field will race for a $5,000 payout on Tuesday.
For Wednesday’s 125-lap Late Model Stock Car main, which will be broadcast live on FloRacing, the field will consist of the 36 fastest cars from time trials and two provisional starters based on owner points. If more than 50 cars enter, there will be a Last Chance Qualifier, which would consist of 15 laps and the top-two finishers will advance to the feature. If there are less than 50 entries, four provisional starters will be added to the field. A past champion’s provisional is also available.
Pro Late Models will run 100 green-flag laps beginning at 8:30 p.m. on May 14, and streamed live on FloRacing. The field will be set using the same structure as for the Late Model Stock Car division.
Entries for the two-day event are available on the Pit Pay mobile app. No other entries will be accepted. Deadline for entries is Friday, May 10 at 4 p.m. Tickets are available for both days at www.northwilkesborospeedway.com.
