SOLID ROCK CARRIERS CARS TOUR EVENT PREVIEW PRES. BY ACCENT IMAGING: VISITHAMPTON.COM 125 AT LARRY KING LAW’S LANGLEY SPEEDWAY — AUGUST 29, 2020

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 25, 2020) — A busy August of racing for the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour concludes this Saturday night with the VisitHampton.com 125 at Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia. The Late Model Stock Cars return to Langley for the second year in a row after Deac McCaskill snuck underneath Bobby McCarty and Layne Riggs on the last lap to win the inaugural race in 2019.

Entering this weekend, all eyes are on Jared Fryar, who enters Langley as the current LMSC points leader and most recent race winner. Fryar outdueled CARS Tour debutant and Virginia LMSC mainstay Mike Looney in the closing laps of last Saturday’s race at Franklin County Speedway to win his first race of the season. In the process, Fryar broke a winless streak across Late Model Stock Car and Super Late Model competition that stretched back to Dominion Raceway in March 2017. Fryar now holds a 16-point lead over JR Motorsport’s Connor Mosack as the CARS Tour enters its championship stretch run.

QUOTES:

Timothy Peters looking to return to victory lane at Langley

Timothy Peters is looking to return to Edelbrock Victory Lane in the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour for the first time since 2016. Peters is excited to get back in the cockpit of his Nelson Motorsports Late Model Stock and make his first start in the CARS Tour this season.

“I’m confident in my ability to go compete for a win, but you have the CARS Tour competitors and it’s awesome competitors and awesome racing,” Peters said. “I’m just looking forward to mixing it up with those guys. It’s a really good series going and I applaud Jack McNelly. We have great people that help us with Marcus Richmond and Steve Stallings from R&S Chassis as well as David Triplett. Marcus is my best friend and we’ve had a lot of success together and he plays a big role in Nelson Motorsports, as do all the guys that put these machines together under the Nelson Motorsports umbrella.

Peters is always excited about racing in the CARS Tour — both from a competition standpoint and a racing standpoint.

“It’s a lot of fun for me,” Peters said. “Barry Nelson has done a lot for me over the years in my racing since we started our relationship. He has built one of the powerhouse Late Model Stock Car teams and gives us the resources to go win and run well. Any time he gives me a chance to get back behind the seat of one of his cars, I’m excited.”

Grayson Cullather hoping for Langley victory

Grayson Cullather is returning to CARS Tour action for the second time in the 2020 season at Langley Speedway. Cullather is excited to get back to Langley and to get back in the car and hopes to score his first top-five finish.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel this weekend,” Cullather said. “I always enjoy racing with the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour whenever I get the chance to.  I am hoping we can put a solid run together.  Hopefully we can carry over the speed that we had at the Hampton Heat.”

Cullather finished seventh in the Hampton Heat 200 earlier this year. Improving on that run is the first step for Cullather, but winning is the ultimate goal and a victory in the VisitHampton.com 125 would be a career highlight.

“It would be the biggest win of my life,” Cullather said. “It would really mean a lot to my team with Carroll Speedshop, and my family. I’ve never won at Langley, but we have put some solid runs together there.”

CARS Tour Policies to Prevent Spread of COVID-19 Continue

The CARS Tour’s COVID-19 policies will continue to be in effect for this weekend’s race at Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway. They include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • All personnel will have their temperature screened before entering the race track.
  • Driver Intros will not be held amongst the crowd, per usual; instead, drivers will be introduced from their cars on the grid.
  • Trailers will be spread out across the infield to maintain proper social distancing.
  • Spotters will be required to wear masks during the race.
  • Masks will be strongly recommended for those who are in the infield and required for all Victory Lane celebrations.
