Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour Event Preview HarrisonsWorkwear.com 150 pres. by Maverick Steel Buildings – April 10, 2021 Greenville-Pickens Speedway – Easley, SC

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 6, 2021) – After a three-year hiatus, the “Border War” between the CARS Super Late Model Tour and the Southern Super Series will return to action this weekend. Only this time it will be at a new track in Greenville, South Carolina. The 150-lap feature event at Greenville-Pickens Speedway will pay $10,000 to the race winner, attracting many of the South’s best Super Late Model drivers between the two series. The six (6) tire race with controlled cautions will add an additional element of strategy when teams put on fresh rubber to have the best chance in the final sprint to the finish. Strategy, stacked field, and Super Late Model racing returning to Greenville-Pickens on a Saturday night should make for a quality event fans won’t want to miss.

QUICK HITS

Zane Smith Teams Up with Highlands Motorsports

Full time NASCAR truck series driver will get back behind the wheel of a Super Late Model for the first of several races this season piloting the #96 Highlands Motorsports machine. Smith, who finished runner-up in the truck series championship standings a season ago, competed in the one and only CARS Super Late Model Tour race held at Greenville-Pickens in 2016. Smith took the checkered flag in the fourth position that night, but the talented driver from Las Vegas has gained the praise of many with his improved skills behind the wheel since that time.

Randy Gentry Ready for Hometown Challenge

Fans of Greenville-Pickens Speedway will have one of their own to cheer for Saturday night under the lights. Easley, South Carolina native Randy Gentry will pilot his familiar #09 machine hoping to best the field and keep the winner’s trophy close to home. Gentry has competed sporadically over the years behind the wheel of a Super Late Model, however; the local racer has the advantage of countless laps around the half-mile paper clip shaped facility. Gentry would be considered “one to watch” Saturday night.

Strong Field Equals Fierce Competition

It might only be the second and third races of the season for the respective series, but this weekend’s HarrisonsWorkwear.com 150 presented by Maverick Steel Buildings will have a stout field of drivers on hand to compete for the $10,000 winner’s check. Both series 2020 champions Matt Craig (CARS Tour) and Stephen Nasse (SSS) will both no doubt be factors in the final results. Two NASCAR truck series regulars, Zane Smith and Chandler Smith will both return to their Super Late Model roots with high expectations. Kyle Plott, Jeremy Pate, and current CARS Tour points leader Carson Kvapil all have the ability to steal the spotlight and capture the win.

The Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour is one of the premier short track series in the United States.
