Quality Car Counts Come with the Territory at Motor Mile for CARS Tour Events

Mooresville, NC 8/18/21 – Next weekend’s Long Run Transportation 225 presented by Food Country USA might only be the third time CARS Tour has visited the Motor Mile Speedway in the series seven-year history, but each time it has the series has brought quality fields to the beautiful 4/10th mile facility. This year’s edition should once again produce a strong event.

Over the previous two events (2015 and 2019) the Late Model Stock division has averaged just two cars less than a full field at twenty-six cars per race at the speedway located in the New River Valley. On the Super Late Model side of things, it is a similar story with the division hosting an average of twenty-five cars per event.

Fans at Motor Mile Speedway should once again be treated to the largest car count the speedway will host this season when the series rolls into town on August 28th.

While many of the names that competed in those Super Late Model events at Motor Mile have moved on to other adventures or the top echelons of NASCAR, there a several that remain and are expected to be in attendance. Bubba Pollard, Matt Craig, and Stephen Nasse are three drivers who have competed in both the 2015 and 2019 events. They also happen to be the top three finishers in the above-mentioned order two years ago.

Outside these regular names, Motor Mile always brings various competitors out to play. Giovanni Bromante returns to Super Late Model competition with Anthony Campi Racing at Motor Mile. Series newcomer Jake Keaton will make his series debut from the state of West Virginia. The tiger car himself, Kodie Conner, once again returns to CARS Tour after a one race hiatus.

Josh Berry and Bobby McCarty are the two previous winners in past events the track has hosted. McCarty, the current championship points leader, will look for a good run to keep his lead position. Berry also has plans to be in attendance, fresh off being named the full-time driver of the #8 Xfinity ride for Dale Earnhardt Jr in 2022.

Deac McCaskill is the only other driver beside Berry to have competed in both Motor Mile events over the years. McCaskill is in dire need of a podium finish to make up his nineteen-point deficit in the standings.

Brandon Pierce secured an impressive fourth place finish in 2019 and will look to match that result to make it a season best finish this year. Mini Tyrrell is another driver who finished in the top ten in 2019. Tyrrell is coming off a solid performance at Hickory on July 31st, where the youngster led majority of the Throwback 276 event’s laps.

No word on if current track points leader Kres Van Dyke, Kyle Dudley, Bryan Reedy, or Ryan Wilson will represent their home track and battle against the touring stars. Van Dyke came close to winning a CARS Tour event at Kingsport Speedway in 2018. Ryan Wilson has made six series starts over the year, while Dudley and Reedy would be making their series debut should they decide to compete. Fans can expect a shake up in running order if they should show.
