Mooresville, NC 9/11/21 – After a tribute to those who lost their lives in twenty years ago today in the incidents of 9/11, Chandler Smith scored a thrilling victory in the Super Late Model division, while Mini Tyrrell became a first time winner in Late Model Stock Car action.
For Smith it was a long awaited visit to Edelbrock victory lane back behind the wheel of a Super Late Model after taking a weekend off from the NASCAR Truck Series. Tyrrell won his first career CARS Late Model Stock Tour race after scoring the Hedgecock Racing pole award.

Chandler Smith was able to hold off Stephen Nasse to score the win in Saturday night’s HarrisonsWorkwear.com 225 at Tri County Motor Speedway.
After a restart with nine laps to go Smith was able to clear Stephen Nasse and maintain the lead position to score the win in front of a packed house.
Nasse settled for the runner-up spot after leading in the early portion of the event, while championship points leader Matt Craig rounded out the podium with a third place finish.
A pair of Southern Super Series regulars in Jake Garcia and Hunter Robbins finished fourth and fifth to recap the top five positions.
Late Model Stock Car Recap
It has not been for lack of effort but this year for Mini Tyrrell has been a struggle most of the season. That all became a thing of the past Saturday night at Tri-County, as the Virginia youngster scored his first career Late Model Stock Car win in dominating fashion.
Tyrrell finished a whopping 3.638 seconds ahead of second place finisher Sam Yarbrough who enjoyed his best finish of the 2021 campaign.
Bobby McCarty continued to grow his championship points lead by finished third, just one position above his closest competitor, rookie Kaden Honeycutt in forth.
Jared Fryar with his #14 Sterling Buildings Group machine rounded out the top five in the fifth position.
